Last week we had our second #cryptocoffee session on Twitter — a live chat which UTRUST is hosting once a month to bring our community into a dialogue about the state of the crypto space. Every month we’re inviting personalities or companies to discuss blockchain, crypto, e-commerce and other important topics surrounding payment solutions of the future.

For the second #cryptocoffee we invited Mashood Hassan, Marketing Manager at Jumpseller, one of our partners. Jumpseller is an e-commerce platform for fast-growing businesses. Mashood, together with our VP of Global Partnerships Sanja, discussed the future of e-commerce and the role of cryptocurrencies on it.

Q1: Predictions: where do you see #ecommerce in 10 years? #cryptocoffee

@UTRUST Today, #eCommerce accounts for around 10% of the total retail sales in the world. In 10 years, the share of e-commerce on total retail might be closer to 40 or even 50%, with money flowing from brick and mortar into e-commerce, mostly driven by the growth of mobile commerce.

@UTRUST "Digital payments are evolving, we are going to see more from cryptocurrencies! Platforms like UTRUST will have a big part to play. Real-time support is also something that has become very important, customers have questions & no patience, they want everything fast!" - Mashood

Q4: How do you envision the payments experience in #ecommerce 5 years from now? #cryptocoffee

@UTRUST "Along with cryptocurrency, I feel like Alternative Payment Methods (Digital wallets, credits etc.) in general will see a boost. Because customers want to dictate their payment choices. Using mobile devices to make 1 tap buys will become more popular as well!" - Mashood

@UTRUST I believe we'll see a faster adoption in verticals with a higher average selling price, such as luxury, real estate and automotive. (2/2)

@UTRUST For merchants, especially small-medium companies, the biggest challenge is related to the high fees they need to pay, usually between 3 and 6% on each transaction. (1/2)
